TERMS & INSCRIPTION

All participating books will be exhibited to the public during FELIFA 2021, from December 2 to 10, in Buenos Aires.

Shortlist will be announced on November 25.

The winners will be announced during FELIFA 2021.

DATES

• November 25 - Shortlist announcement
• December 4 to 18 - FELIFA - Exhibition of all participating books and announcement of the winners

Keep in mind that the jury will meet online, so both the pdf and the video of the book must allow a proper reading of it. The video will serve to pay special attention to the details and materialization. The .pdf max size should be 15 mb and the video should be sent with a link and already uploaded by the contestant.

Attach two printed copies of the form that you will receive by email once you have completed your submission. Please, when sending it, mention clearly on the package that you are sending a book (to avoid any customs inconveniences)

In order to confirm your participation you must send us an e-mail to convocatoriasfelifa@gmail.com with the submission form (name of the file: SURNAME_NAME_form) together with a pdf of the book / max 15 mb. (name of the file: SURNAME_NAME_title of the book).

AWARD CONDITIONS

• Books eligible to participate: those published between november 2018 and october 2021, by independent or commercial publishers, institutions or self-published by the authors,  and in editions of no less than 50 copies.
• Books published through Editorial La Luminosa, SED Editorial, La Balsa Editora or other books related to members of the FELIFA team or the jury, can participate in the open call to be part of the exhibition, but cannot be awarded with the “best book” of any category, nor receive the “best book award”.
• Participating books may be submitted by the authors, the publishers, or by a third party acting on their behalf.
• The shortlisted books will be announced on November 25.
• All the participating books will be exhibited during the festival from December 4 to 18 at Arte x Arte, City of Buenos Aires.
• The shortlisted and winning books will be awarded with a traveling exhibition that will travel to different centers in Latin America between 2022 and 2023. It will tour in at least 4 countries: Argentina (FELIFA), Uruguay (CDF), Brazil (Floripa na Foto, BC Foto Festival, Curso de fotografía Univille, Escola Portfólio and FestFoto) and Cuba (Fototeca de Cuba), with the possibility of other institutions joining the itinerancy.
• The jury will select up to 6 shortlisted per categroy and then a winning project per each.
• The participating books are invited to be part of the TURMA Library, open to the entire community of photographers, publishers, students and researchers, where they are catalogued and shared to contribute to their circulation and the formation of new authors. (http://somosturma.com/biblioteca/)

• Those who do not wish to donate the books to the library must specify it in the registration form and send their books with the corresponding return postage paid.
• Those responsible for the selected books authorize TURMA ASOCIACIÓN CIVIL and FESTIVAL FELIFA the reproduction rights of the books submitted, with the sole purpose of promoting the festival.
• FELIFA is not responsible for books lost or damaged in transit.
• The selection will be made by a jury composed of Ricardo Baez, Valentina Abenavoli and Veronica Sanchis Bencomo.
• The jury's decision will be final. Any circumstance not foreseen in this call for entries will be resolved by the organizers of the Award.  
• The calendar and general conditions of the award may be modified due to the health context.
• Failure to comply with any of the above points will result in disqualification.
